Wide Variety of Colors
Recwater fabrics are crafted from solution-dyed acrylic fibers with a waterproof PVC coating applied on one side. This innovative coating is color-matched to the acrylic fabric, combining the elegance and aesthetic appeal of acrylic with the superior waterproof performance of PVC.
The PVC coating is specially formulated to ensure perfect adhesion to the acrylic base, resulting in outstanding durability. Unlike many other products on the market, Recwater fabric resists cracking and rolling, offering excellent dimensional stability even under demanding conditions.
The uncoated side of the fabric is treated to provide effective water and oil repellency, while the PVC-coated side is embossed with a subtle textured pattern, giving the surface a sophisticated fabric-like appearance.
Due to its heavier weight and enhanced resistance compared to Recacril®, Recwater is particularly well-suited for marine applications and boats exposed to extreme weather conditions. It is also an excellent choice for awnings in regions with heavy rainfall. Please note that the weight of Recwater should be considered when selecting appropriate frame and hardware for awning installations.
Recwater canvases undergo rigorous quality control throughout the manufacturing process and fully comply with the performance and safety requirements of the UNE-EN 13561:2004+A1:2009 standard, ensuring reliable and secure use in all approved applications.
Antimicrobial Treatment
Recwater canvases are susceptible to damage from microorganisms such as molds, algae, and bacteria. To safeguard the fabric’s integrity and longevity, Recwater is treated with specialized antimicrobial agents that offer effective protection against these threats.
While this treatment helps prevent microorganisms from adhering directly to the fabric surface, growth may still occur on accumulated dirt or foreign substances. Therefore, regular cleaning is essential to maintain optimal protection and extend the lifespan of your Recwater canvases. Please refer to the Maintenance Section for detailed cleaning guidelines.

Recwater Warranty
RECASENS offers a 5-year warranty from the date of installation, covering Recwater fabrics against decomposition and fading. This warranty applies exclusively to fabrics that are regularly maintained and used under normal conditions.
At RECASENS’ discretion, we will either replace the defective fabric free of charge or reimburse the invoice value of the affected fabric section. Please note, this warranty does not cover any additional costs or compensation.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
- Improper maintenance, including the use of unsuitable cleaning products, detergents, chemicals, solvents, or abrasive tools that may harm the fabric fibers.
- Natural aging, normal wear, or atmospheric and phytosanitary pollution.
- Soiling caused by animals.
- Accidents (including road accidents), misuse, vandalism, burns (from any source including cigarettes and embers), fires, natural disasters, or repairs due to these causes.
- Faulty assembly, handling errors by the user, hanging objects on the fabric, impact from falling objects, or other external factors.
- Lightning strikes or unusual climatic and environmental conditions.
- Costs related to mechanical components (hardware, mechanisms, structures) and any manufacturing, assembly, or installation expenses.
This warranty becomes effective on the installation date of awnings, curtains, or any other products made with RECASENS canvases.
As RECASENS canvases are a component of the final product, please contact your installer or distributor if you identify any defective fabric.
Maintenance for Recwater Fabrics
The advanced Infinity Process finish provides Recwater fabrics with long-lasting protection against mold, as well as excellent water and oil repellency. This ensures your awnings, marine tops, and covers deliver reliable protection from both sun and water for many years.
However, dirt, dust, airborne pollutants, organic materials, and general debris can compromise this protection and shorten the fabric’s lifespan. Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to maintain performance.
Routine Cleaning
- Clean your canvas once a month using a low-pressure hose to prevent dirt buildup.
- Important: Ensure the fabric is completely dry before closing or storing the awning or cover.
- The awning or cover can remain open during rain, as rainfall helps wash away dirt accumulation.
- If you must store the canvas while wet, unroll and dry it as soon as possible.
- During continuous rain it is advisable to keep the awning rolled up.
Thorough Cleaning (Every 2–3 Years)
- Gently brush off loose dust and dirt with a soft brush. Avoid stiff brushes as they may damage the fiber surface.
- Rinse the fabric with clean water using a low-pressure hose. Avoid high-pressure washing.
- Prepare a solution of solvent-free soap mixed with warm water (no higher than 104ºF/40ºC) and apply to dissolve dirt and debris.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residues.
- Allow the canvas to air dry completely while kept tensioned and protected from wind.
- The fabric may be left open in the rain, as rain will also help prevent the accumulation of dirt. If for any reason you have to store the canvas while it is still wet, open it as soon as possible to let it dry.
Removing Fungal Stains
Although Recwater fabrics resist fungal growth, fungi may develop on embedded dirt. To remove fungal stains:
- Brush off loose dirt with a soft brush (never use stiff brushes).
- Prepare a cleaning solution of 10% household bleach, 20% solvent-free neutral detergent, and 70% water.
- Apply the solution to affected areas and leave it on for 15–20 minutes maximum.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water multiple times to remove all bleach residue.
- Air dry the fabric fully tensioned and protected from wind until completely dry.
- Repeat if necessary.
Environmental Note
Please dispose of cleaning chemicals and wastewater responsibly. Bleach and other cleaning agents can harm plants, animals, and ecosystems.
Consumer Information
Minor imperfections may occasionally occur during handling, preparation, or installation of the awning.
Whitish, marbled streaks—commonly referred to as "crazing"—can appear on the fabric surface during folding, handling, or fabrication. This effect results from micro-fractures in the finish caused by folding, which alters how light refracts off the fabric. Crazing tends to occur more frequently on lighter-colored fabrics. Additionally, small folds may develop along seams when rolling the canvas, due to the increased thickness in those areas.
These subtle irregularities are inherent to acrylic fibers and do not impact the fabric’s performance or durability. As such, they are not considered defects and are outside the responsibility of the installer or manufacturer.
